WellAware is seeking a capable, enthusiastic individual to fill an opening for a Project Engineer. The Project Engineer role is primarily responsible for the configuration and implementation of customer projects, which includes hardware, network, and software configurations and implementations. The role is responsible for completing critical configuration tasks and project delivery objectives to implement projects with quality and efficiency. The Project Engineer role is critical to ensuring project deliverables are provided on time, within budget, and with high quality.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop project delivery plans by reviewing proposals and outlining project objectives
  • Configure software systems to collect and distribute customer data from field devices, including polling engine configuration (Kepware/AUTOSOL), front-end software configuration, enterprise integration systems (OPC, FTP)
  • Configure first- and third-party hardware to match customer application requirements
  • Work with technical sales teams to outline and define customer-specific product solutions
  • Work with field operations teams to configure and test hardware and network devices
  • Work with field operations teams to validate data streams from field devices
  • Work with hardware engineering teams to deliver quality hardware products and configurations
  • Serve as overall project “quarterback” for moving projects from order to cash
  • Monitor project compliance to applicable codes, best-practices, QA/QC policies, and performance standards
  • Assess project performance against defined KPIs and provide regular project status updates
  • Develop and improve project delivery processes and sub-processes to ensure efficiency and repeatability
  • Document configuration and application specific settings for consumption by internal and external team members
  • Assist in client success operations by troubleshooting and reconfiguring software and hardware to solve problems
  • Serve as primary technical contact to costumer during project implementation process and post-implementation (client success)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or project management course of study
  • Demonstrated project management abilities
  • Proven ability to multi-task multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional problem solving skills
  • Patient and enthusiastic demeanor with an eagerness to learn from mistakes and improve abilities
  • Willingness to take on new responsibilities and ownership for actions outside of basic job description
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience with writing technical documentation
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% as applicable
  • Willingness to assist on site in oilfield SCADA equipment installations as applicable
  • San Antonio-based (willingness to relocate if needed)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science course of study
  • Experience with software programming (e.g. Python, JavaScript, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience with enterprise Oil and Gas SCADA systems
  • Experience with Kepware KEPServerEX and AUTOSOL ACM
  • Experience with Ole for Process Control (OPC)
  • Experience with FTP server and client configuration
  • Experience troubleshooting network devices
