Is WellAware Remote Oilfield Monitoring a SCADA system?
Yes and no, depending on who you ask. WellAware Remote Oilfield Monitoring is a modern technology platform that provides many of the same features as SCADA, like trending, data historian, HMIs, alarms, and more. Unlike SCADA, however, WellAware is designed to be simple, fast, and pain-free. With SCADA systems, hardware, software, connectivity, and dashboards are often purchased from multiple vendors. WellAware Remote Oilfield Monitoring includes all of the above.
Can WellAware integrate with my SCADA system?
Yes! We offer three methods to integrate with your existing SCADA: 1) REST API, 2) MQTT, and 3)FTPS/sFTP. These methods allow our customers to get their high-resolution production monitoring data into their platform of choice, including SCADA.
Can WellAware integrate with my Production Accounting system?
Yes! Just like with SCADA integrations, WellAware can integrate with Production Accounting software using our REST API, MQTT, or FTPS/sFTP. We can develop additional integration methods as well depending on your needs.
What can I monitor with WellAware Remote Oilfield Monitoring?
WellAware Remote Oilfield Monitoring allows you to monitor a variety of oil and gas production assets. Our hardware comes with integrated sensors (pressure, temperature, level, flow), or you can BYOT (“Bring Your Own Thing”). Our hardware includes flexible I/O that can accommodate a wide range of analog, digital, and serial sensors. We’ve connected to artificial lift systems, plunger controllers, pump-off controllers, compressor panels, generators, gas flow meters, RTUs, PLCs, and more. Chances are we can get high-resolution data on whatever you need to monitor. Just ask.
Can I remotely control my oilfield equipment?
Yes! WellAware isn’t just a monitoring platform, it also enables remote control and automation. WellAware is capable of controlling artificial lift systems, generators, compressors, pumps, chemical management systems, and more.
Does WellAware have manual data entry for my pumpers?
Yes. The WellAware ACT Mobile app includes Field Data Capture, so your pumpers can capture non-automated data or input notes about actions they are taking. With this tool, you don’t need to worry about smudged greasebooks or updating field direct data to an office computer. With WellAware, pumper data gets synced automatically.
Does WellAware Remote Oilfield Monitoring come with alarms?
Absolutely. WellAware offers a full incident management suite. Set alarm thresholds, add escalation rules, and configure notifications in WellAware ACT Web, and allow field or office users to acknowledge alarms in either software app. Our smart alarming features reduce alarm fatigue by only sending a new alert when a condition escalates, and our incident management keeps a full log of events, notifications, and acknowledgments.
What if I don't need new RTUs or sensors?
No problem. WellAware offers BYOT (“Bring Your Own Thing”) so you can get high-resolution data from existing devices. We’ll provide an industrial gateway to gather better data from your existing RTUs, PLCs, or sensors using whatever protocol that device requires.
What if I don't need WellAware software?
No problem. WellAware exists to get you high-resolution, data wherever you need it. Use our REST API or other integration methods to get your high-quality data wherever you need it. Note that some features will not be available without WellAware software.
